About This Experience

This is the reference Navagio cruise from the island's closest harbour. It leaves from Porto Vromi Maries — the port reached through Maries village, not the Anafonitria one — and runs the standard west-coast circuit in about three hours.

The route goes north first, to Navagio, roughly 15 to 20 minutes away. Under the current restrictions that is an offshore photo pass rather than a beach stop: boats hold about 50 metres off, and nobody lands or swims in the cove. From there the boat works back south with three swim stops, chosen on the day from the local sea caves, Sfogio, White Beach and Porto Steniti depending on wind and how busy each cove already is.

The final approach back into Porto Vromi passes the rock formation the operator lists as the "Neptune Profile cave" and "Poseidon's Profile". Expect a few minutes with the engine idling while the skipper lines the boat up on the angle where the face resolves.

What is not included matters here: no food, no drinks, and no hotel transfer unless you add one. Bring water, sun protection and something for rocky entries at the swim stops — there is no shade at the harbour or on most of the coves.

Which Porto Vromi does this leave from?

Porto Vromi Maries, reached through Maries village. The other harbour, Porto Vromi Anafonitria, is about 16 km and half an hour of mountain road away and is not connected to it directly. Look for Maries Cruises & Fun at the port.

Does this cruise reach the Blue Caves?

No. Porto Vromi is on the west coast and the Blue Caves are around the top of the island on the north-east side. This route covers the west-coast caves and coves instead — Sfogio, White Beach, Porto Steniti and the Hidden Treasure Cave. For the wreck and the Blue Caves on one ticket, leave from Agios Nikolaos or Alykes.

Can I land on Navagio beach?

No. Landings and in-bay swimming at Navagio are banned through 31 October 2026 and boats must stay roughly 50 metres offshore. You will get the photograph, not the sand.

How many swim stops are there?

Three, typically 20 to 30 minutes each. The exact coves vary with the weather and boat traffic — usually some combination of the local blue caves, Sfogio, White Beach and Porto Steniti.

What happens if it is too windy?
